Mozart: La clemenza di Tito
Finally on the 16, of September 1791 Mozarts opera "La clemenza di Tito" had its premiere with the composer himself at the podium - and with a modest success. But things were much better, when he made the popular kastrate singer, Domenico Vedii, perform the great role of Sestos. - Here the charakter is performed by the contralto Jochen Kowalski and in the very end everything is smothesly taken over by the soprano Helen Donath. -

Mozart: "Rhondo mit obligatem Bassethorn"
Просмотров 4,3 тыс.15 лет назад
Sung at a "Musikalische Academie" in Prague, april 1791. In reality it is a scene (Vitelia: "Non più di fiori") from Mozarts opera La clemenza di Tito - which not until September had its premiere in Pague too. "Rhondo mit obligatem Bassethorn" was sung by the very able Praguer soprano Josepha Duschek. Mozart had written this dramatic piese especially to her, his very, very? close friend, and to...

The story took its beginning when Britain had trouble finding suitable use for their P-40s which were inadequate for the european airwar. With the upcoming "Lend an lease"-law the british hoped to take advantage of USAs enormous production capacity and in April 1940 they contacted their earlier supplyer of aircraft, North American Aviation, and presented the specifications for a new fighter. Air war at the eastern front 5of 5

It looked like a new easy Blitz Krieg. The sovjets - and particularly Stalin - was taken by completely surprise. In the first few hours of war, the russians lost 1600 airplanes - most of them nicely parked side by side in long rows at the airfields. But little by little luck should run out for the germans. In an enormous effort the russians moved all aircraft factories to the other side of the ...

I grew up listening to this album and I know every word to every song
I can listen to Wilmer Wise play trumpet all day. RIP legend
We love you Carreras
We love Carreras
"The trumpet, blasting its wondrous sound throughout the land, will call all before the throne of God".
I wonder if they're unionized or 4:29 have strict studio time and timed out...which is why they couldn't do the 3 bars. who knows. It seems like a reasonable request, but thats the only logical reason i could see them dismissing. or good editing.
I’ve seen Maestro and the pride Bernstein takes in West Side Story’s songs. He talked as if they were all his work. Could anyone forget lyrics like Maria, say it soft and it’s almost like praying or all the lyrics of I Want to Live in America. They are the genius of Steven Sondheim. Bernstein’s narcicism shows in the movie. He conducted a lot of classical music anyone could have. But he abused his wife Felicia by his infidelity with men and women, as if to prove to the public he was bisexual. This was his alone.
Exquisite!
I bet ppl around him had to inhale his heavy smoke all the time
Oh how glorious. I shall only watch the 1961 version. Thank you so much for this video. 🌷🌷🌷 (Netherlands-eu)
È incredibile come un compositore possa dare suono e voce a ciò che è nella sua mente e a farlo in questo modo.
Anyone get that Disney reference? “Out of the way, assassin!”
Oh so good! Fab amazing performers. COOOOOL!! ❤❤❤
I like the movie voices better
Amazing...though the lyrics are different.
Grew up listening to this version of the soundtrack. the energy felt amazing then as it does seeing behind the scenes!
I love Murray from Stranger Things kickin’ it on the drum kit! 😂
Thats some trumpet he has tgere
Was an employee at music manufacturing n distribution. Deutche Gramaphone was one of the labels we handled.
I am not José Carreras and I've never been conducted by Bernstein, but I have been on the receiving end of those cringe WTF are you doing to my music? looks by a conductor/composer. Those scars last forever! lol
It's fascinating that documentary cameras were there to record the creation of this project, as I'm sure the producers of the doc had no idea it was going to turn into a debacle
Thank you for posting these sessions. ❤
Wow. Those clarinets nailed some tough passages.
I just can’t get enough of the music from this movie.
That control room is the perfect nyc dick. They don't believe in work. They believe in non magic.
I doubt the general public will detect the phasing or lack of togetherness in that one bar. Close enough for jazz.
"We're going to restore bar 110. Promises retracted, just like the Republican Party". Hilarious comment.
I was there in the listening booth not this session but for "America" . What a gift.
Wow, what an experience!
Wow how fortunate -- mind sharing in what capacity?
Who do you know that was part of the Studios at RCA?
I didnt know anyone at RCA studios. I knew exec at the label Deutche Gramaphone who released this recording when it was done
@@elisem8084 Thanks for the reply.
My friend Steve Bogardus (then and now) is on 3:11 - so young then as now, Dear Steve!
Goosebumps!!!
I’ve become obsessed with Bernstein. Perfectionist. So difficult to work with. Brilliant. I worked in a male dominated field of law enforcement from 1990 to 2017. I was a civilian victim advocate and I would never let anybody talk to me the way he does but times have changed they have really changed. His brilliance has gone down in history.❤
Oh no! 😮Is this really the last bit? Isn’t there more?? 😢
I love that Ms. Troyanas wore an elegant evening dress to a recording session. I’m sure it brought her confidence.
Lenny was descended from poor immigrants who had no musical talents. Wonder if another musical genius will emerge from one of the thousands of distressed immigrants arriving today.
The most beautiful love song ever written in history. 😮
I fell in love with Carreras all over again here.😊
Carreras eating ice cream just before recording ! 😮 Does it make one’s voice better??😅
Yes, we all fell in love with someone who wasn’t supposed to be for us. This musical work will always remind us of those stolen kisses.😢
Can someone kindly identify these two singers?
Omigosh. I never saw Carreras young! He was deliciously handsome! 😮
Unpleasant person ….
Watch the conductro! That's my motto! The first "night" I came up short. The second "night" I watched Bernstein and sang it to the right length.
As I sing along with the tenor/sopranos, I imagine what a thrill it must be to really be conducted in your performance by the composer, and that composer is Leonard Bernstein. Like no one else. Such excitement must add enormously to your performance. It does to mine!
Still my favorite soundtrack of all!
You have a precius trésor....be blessed 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻and thank you so much for sharing this whit us
I’ve been a violist my entire life and have played this score many times. I never get sick of it. I truly great piece of work❤️
Thank you for posting this exceptional rehearsal.
This is priceless footage! Thank you for sharing. 😊
Did Carreras Porco Dio 🤣
Carreras........transcendent
Imagine! Because the union allows only certain working hours, they had to stop while Carreras was about to get it right. I don’t blame him getting mad. Even Lenny was frustrated.
